| In most cases, three successive treatment sessions are necessary. In the case of bone-fracture (pseudarthrosis), one or two sessions may be sufficient. The interval has to be at least one week. Usually 2000 to 4000 shockwaves will be applied per treatment. Depending on the individual energy level (lower in cases of insertion tendinopathies, higher in cases of bone treatments), this therapy may be painful to a greater or lesser degree. In certain circumstances, various anaesthetic procedures will be used. |

| All supplementary examinations and the ESWT will be performed by Dr. Bätje himself. The treatment is given in the Friederikenstift Hospital (www.friederikenstift.de) in Hanover or in our practice in Hanover. All preliminary examinations and discussions (informed consent) will take place in Dr. Bätje's practice (www.dr-baetje.de). The findings and x-rays of the referring specialist are important for that and should, if possible, be brought along to the first discussion. Ideally, x-rays should be provided by E-mail (frank.baetje@eswt-hannover.de) or on CD-ROM. |
